We will make strides in advancing freedom and improving the lives and livelihoods of all Coloradans.

Changing lives for Coloradans begins with changing the way the Colorado Republican Party operates. We will overhaul the party organizationally to operate more like a startup. We need to vertically integrate the organization’s digital, communications and grassroots operations so that we will contain costs, improve effectiveness and deliver success.

I’ve effectively led political operations across the country, training thousands of grassroots activists, disrupting entrenched political systems and the status quo, and I’ve held accountable both Democrats and Republicans. Over the last decade, I’ve advanced a strong policy agenda to save taxpayers billions of dollars and exposed and stopped corruption, exploitation and abuse. Being a leader immensely more than titles and speeches — it is about results.

Each of my opponents are failed, status quo politicians who have enriched themselves while losing to Democrats. Their negligence and recklessness delivered the most left-wing, pro-abortion and fiscally irresponsible government in Colorado’s history and the Republicans the least amount of power since World War II.

Buzzwords mean nothing if you don’t know how to manifest the reality they represent. And, it is not enough to be a cheerleader for the party. I am agile, energetic, fearless and determined. I have the ability to naturally communicate and operate in today’s political climate and media environment. It is time for a change. By electing new leadership we will rebuild a Colorado GOP that is not only a lean, mean winning machine, but we will create a movement that will give us the power to govern and create lasting change.

Join me in fighting for a better future for all Coloradans.

A Grassroots Movement

Disconnected and disorganized party management has not only failed to meet the needs of everyday Republicans in Colorado, it has failed to provide sound governance and leadership. As an organizer and activist, I know what building a movement takes. I’ve trained thousands of activists and recruited everyone from all ages and all walks of life. My record and promise are not aspirational talking points, they are backed by results.

“The Republican Party is the party of fiscal prudence, limited government and free markets.”

The Issues We Face

null

REBUILD COLORADO

We must rebuild Colorado and offer solutions to the issues facing Coloradans. We can do this by holding accountable state agencies and the Democratic supermajority. We must ensure that workers and taxpayers are benefiting from legislation, not the well-connected and privileged few.
null

REOPENING SCHOOLS

Reopening schools is a social justice issue. Our students are suffering, it is a humanitarian crisis. Reopening schools should be taken as seriously as school shootings. Suicide attempts have doubled. Children are at risk. 40% of Colorado teachers are quitting teaching for good. Failed leadership has destroyed our education system, taken lives and destroyed potential.
null

FREEDOM & EQUALITY

The Republican Party has a rich history of standing up for the least among us, fighting for civil liberties and freedom of conscience. We must ensure that Coloradans are offered an inclusive, solutions-minded Republican alternative to the extremism and polarization dominating click-bait headlines.

LIVES & LIVELIHOODS

Colorado is 50th in the nation for rebounding from lockdown-induced unemployment. Unemployment and underemployment are not just statistics, they are dashed and divided dreams and robbed fulfillment. Coloradans of all ages, walks of life, and viewpoints are suffering as a result of mismanagement and neglect.

Even Lockwood’s opponents agree…

Scott Gessler said in a text message that he’s always liked Lockwood and is “looking forward to many more discussions with the Republican grassroots about how to rebuild the party!”

The key to rebuilding the party is transforming the way the party operates.

Jonathan Lockwood’s plan for the Republican Party will fundamentally change the way we communicate. Reacting to media hits of the day is not working. In fact, too often there is not even a response or reaction to what’s happening.

The current roles, infrastructure and channels for communicating are not there.

To start, there needs to be a full-scale reorganization of the communications team. There should be a director of communications that strategicaly maps out the party’s communications and develops and oversees a communications operation. A press secretary should be pitching reporters regularly, across the nation, not just here in Colorado. Then, coordinators can support their work and efforts with research and executables. The director of communications should be flanked by a digital director who manages and oversees the party’s digital efforts. They will curate and produce massive amounts of fresh content.

Communications is partly technical and logistical, but powerful communications relies on effective storytelling. The party must have its own in-house content team as well. There should be a team of trackers watching every Democrat like a hawk. Grassroots activists and events, leaders and public officials should be able to rely on the party to produce high-quality, rapid response videos.

Jonathan Lockwood has headed communications for countless organizations and knows how to build a strong communications shop from scratch. A full, in-house team negates the need for outside firms and consultants that drain the party’s resources for little to no gain. We will gain ground by strengthening our communications operations and our effects.

Jonathan Lockwood’s plan for the Republican Party will fundamentally change the way we campaign. Missionaries do not knock doors two weeks before Christmas. We must build a year-round, statewide grassroots field operation that is also managed in-house. This will eliminate the need for outside, and out-of-state, expensive grassroots consultancies.

There must be a strong ground game of local leaders who are supported in managing volunteers and can create community centers that equip local activists with the tools, skills and communications to win in their region.

The Republican Party will hold monthly trainings and workshops — where people walk away with actionable skills. The days of coming to a room to listen to someone drone on and on are over. We need people walking away with a letter to the editor ready to hit send, with social media accounts (and knowing how to actually use them). We need to arm our grassroots activists with SKILLS not “rah-rah-feel good” events they walk away from with no lasting value.

Jonathan Lockwood has personally trained thousands of activists over the last decade and worked to empower local groups to create meaningful events, gain media exposure and push back on the status quo.

Jonathan Lockwood recognizes the role of state party is to offer services to campaigns, elected officials, state and county party officials and even the general public.

Every county party should have a functioning, uniform website with state party’s. They should be coordinated to save everyone time and effort. State party’s job is to make everyone else’s easier. The state party website and staff should be able to provide the information people are looking for – it should not be difficult to find out when an event is happening, or to register to vote, etc.
